Secondary signatures

Secondary signature elements

The Ohio State signature system allows for a unit name to appear under the university word mark. Academic colleges, medical centers, central support units and university academic centers approved by OAA/CAA have the option of using a secondary signature in marketing materials. Each of these units are composed of multiple disciplines and departments which play an increasingly important role in deepening our environment of collaboration. Under no circumstances is any text other than the approved unit name permitted to appear in this space.

University Communications provides all secondary signatures. Units are NOT permitted to make their own secondary signature files. For more information on whether your unit is eligible for a secondary signature, contact your unit communicator or email the university’s brand team at identity@osu.edu.

Secondary signature configurations, clear space, and placements

Secondary signature clear space

Like the university logo, secondary signatures are available in three configurations. Only official files created by the university’s brand team may be used.

Secondary signatures maintain the same clear space requirements and follow the same placement guidelines as the university logo.

Approved secondary signature files are available for download. Questions? Email identity@osu.edu.
