Ohio State's Andrew LaMoreaux documents people and art of remote Asian country
Andrew LaMoreaux, who just graduated from Ohio State with a degree in Art, was one of a handful of people invited to visit the tiny, landlocked Asian country of Bhutan - which generally discourages tourism - with famed National Geographic photographer Steve McCurry. LaMoreaux has for five years worked at Ohio State's Huntington Archive of Buddhist and Related Art, a collection of nearly 300,000 original color slides and photos of art, artifacts and architecture from Asia. The archive had images from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, China, Japan and Thailand, but none from Bhutan. (read more) Related Links: |
