Part of what sets
an Ohio State education apart is it's an engaged education,
meaning not simply classrooms, books, and tests; here, students also
learn by lending their talents and time. Community Service is a huge
part of many Ohio State students' experience — whether it's
sharing our research and discoveries with our neighbors, or, sometimes,
with some good ol' fashioned elbow grease. That knowledge and manpower
has an undeniable impact upon our community, state and world.
One recent example of that impact is our ongoing partnership with
Habitat for Humanity. Right now, on the west lawn of the Ohio Union,
Ohio State students, faculty, and staff are pitching in to build a
new home for a Columbus family. Upon completion, the house will be
moved (very gently) from the Union to the Weinland Park neighborhood,
adjacent to campus. It's giving back and reaching out with our talents
and efforts to the benefit of the community around us. Watch
