A partnership led by Outreach & Engagement will present a Commemorative Salute on Tuesday, March 1 to honor the 50th Anniversary of the Peace Corps. Ohio State ranks 13th on the list of large universities nationwide producing Peace Corps volunteers, and nearly 1,600 Buckeye alumni have served since the Peace CorpsÕ founding in 1961. Confirmed speakers include former Ohio Governor Bob Taft and former Ohio State Board of Trustees Chairman Ted Celeste (both returned Peace Corps volunteers), as well as Ohio House Speaker William Batchelder and President E. Gordon Gee. The program begins promptly at 3:00 p.m. at the U.S. Bank Conference Theatre at the Ohio Union, with a reception to follow. For more information, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
