OSU Leadership Center Workshop - Myer-Briggs Type Indicator

Event: OSU Leadership Center Workshop - Myer-Briggs Type Indicator
Increasing our capacity as leaders within our organizations, departments, companies, and communities begins with understanding our natural gifts. The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) helps us identify our natural preferences and how they impact our interactions with others. In addition, we can identify the natural preferences in others and tailor our leadership to individuals and teams. The MBTI is a highly useful tool for enhancing teamwork, communication, personal development, mediating conflict, managing change, leadership and coaching.

This workshop focuses on increasing participants' self-understanding as well as their understanding of others with different personality preferences. In addition, participants will learn concrete strategies for communicating effectively and respectfully with those with different preferences (peers, bosses, subordinates, customers).

More specifically, participants will:

Gain a deeper understanding of their personality type's gifts and strengths.
Learn how to relate to others with different personality type preferences.
Examine common leadership styles among the different personality types.
Explore decision-making / problem solving issues related to personality type.
Learn how different personality types solve problems and can work together as a group/team.
Prior to the workshop session, participants will take the MBTI online and receive their results as a part of the training. Individuals will also receive a copy of the Introduction to Type booklet. Jeff King, Director, OSU Leadership Center, will be teaching this session.
