Presidential Symposium: The Idea of a University in Time of Crisis
| Event: |
Presidential Symposium: The Idea of a University in Time of Crisis Commentators from a variety of perspectives claim the university is in crisis, whether the result of corporatization, a neo-liberal business orientation, a potential bubble for higher education, athletics run amok, vocationalism over broad intellectual growth, etc. A panel of university presidents led by OSU President Gordon Gee will discuss these and other issues confronting the modern university, with the ultimate goal of asserting the values of the University by looking both at the practices that have sustained it and also the changes it needs to address. |
