ZOOM: FAMILY FILM FESTIVAL
Zoom brings you terrific all-ages films at incredibly affordable prices, free family activities, and much more. This year’s assortment of entertaining and acclaimed movies ranges from a classic comedy to a wide variety of beautiful animated films. In addition to the great films, kids and families can enjoy hands-on crafts, our free Saturday morning cereal and pajama party, and a Saturday afternoon ice cream social.
This collection of international animated shorts from the New York International Children’s Film Festival delighted full houses at Zoom for the past three years.
This year’s assortment features musical, animated, and narrative shorts, including The Gruffalo’s Child, an adaptation of the enormously popular Gruffalo picture books (and a follow-up to 2009 Oscar-nominee The Gruffalo); an inspiringly clever new film from Aardman Animation (of Wallace & Gromit fame) shot with a cell phone on the world’s largest stop motion animation set; and a musical adventure starring two cute-as-buttons Japanese puppets who travel to Abbey Road Studios to shoot a ukulele cover version of the Beatles’ “Twist and Shout.” (app. 60–70 mins., video)
