JHLE is an audacious example of the power of big band jazz to tap into todayÕs pulse well beyond swing-era clichŽs. HollenbeckÕs music for JHLE is a daring mix of heart-on-sleeve lyricism with a wide -ranging palette of tonal colors, evocative atmospheres and robust rhythmic propulsion. JHLEÕs most recent Grammy-nominated release for the Sunnyside label Eternal Interlude earned acclaim for its rich, panoramic orchestral textures as well as its membersÕ strong individual roles.
