Bell National Resource Center on the African American Male presents the 5th Annual Historical Lecture Series Featured speaker: Dr. Theresa Runstedtler 6:00 pm Ohio Union, Great Hall Meeting Room 3 Dr. Theresa Runstedtler is an Assistant Professor of American Studies at the University of Buffalo (SUNY). Her research and teaching interest include the intersection of race, gender, and resistance in popular culture. In Jackson Johnson, Rebel Sojourner, Dr. Runstedtler constructs a global history of race, gender, and empire in the early twentieth century, while highlighting Jack Johnson, the first African American World Heavyweight Champion (1908 Ð 1915), in his public challenge to White supremacy at home and abroad.
