Women's Tea 2014
Women's Tea 2014 |
The WomenÕs Tea serves as a truly remarkable event, recognizing strong female role models and leaders within the Columbus and Ohio State community. This themed event centers around showing off our best hats and gloves during our program, comprised of coffee, tea and light fare. The WomenÕs Tea goal is to re-write women into the OSU history books by spotlighting unknown women of the past, while recognizing the deserving women of today. This year we will be honoring Komal Rambani, a graduate student at Ohio State who has mastered the art of balancing work with family life. She is the president of the AWIS OSU chapter (Association of Women in Science), which supports equality for women in STEMM fields. Elena Costello will also be recognized for her work with the Latino community, through being the Program Manager for LASER and the Operations Manager for the Latino Free Clinic at Ohio State. Lastly, we will be honoring 1girl, a new organization whose mission is to provide young girls with the opportunity to develop the skills and confidence they need to lead fulfilling lives and become successful leaders.
