Convocation 2003 marks the beginning of college life

placing the new bells in Orton Tower

During this year's Convocation ceremony, Monday, September 22, students will experience their first academic procession, learn some of the history and traditions of Ohio State, take a stroll through the stadium with the OSU Marching Band, and learn the words to the Ohio State alma mater, Carmen Ohio.

Convocation is just part of the much larger First Year Experience at Ohio State, programs and opportunities designed to ease the transition to college life, and to enrich the beginning of our students' time on campus, helping them make the most of their efforts. Watch the video for more FYE programs, like the Buckeye Book Community—where students meet famous authors and discuss their books—as well as a concert on the Oval this October by the Columbus Symphony, specifically for first-year students.
