11th Denman Research Forum

Ohio State's best and brightest undergraduates recently showed off these diverse research projects--and 313 others--at the 11th annual Denman Undergraduate Research Forum .

The forum featured 330 students who hit just about every subject worth researching--nutrition, psychology, family structures, animal sciences, media criticism, and wine writing, just to name a few.

With a golf cart quietly running on hydrogen, freshman B.J. Yurkovich presented his work on a Center for Automotive Research team working to create a car powered by hydrogen fuel.

"I just couldn't have done this if it wasn't for the Center for Automotive Research," said Yurkovich, who is double-majoring in computer science and music. "I have a great opportunity, and it's such a great opportunity for other undergraduates--and graduate students--to get involved and really learn hands-on applications for everyday life."

Ohio State President Karen Holbrook couldn't agree more.

"One of the greatest benefits of attending a world-class research institution like Ohio State," Holbrook said, "is that you have the opportunity to carry out significant research as an undergraduate, working side by side with faculty who are experts in their fields."
