The Web
A consistency of look and navigation helps the entire university communicate clear, consistent, and more effective messages. Therefore, in order to assist campus web developers, web design recommendations, graphic elements, and style sheets are provided below. The goal is that these elements (web-ready logos, fonts, common navigation bars, footers, etc.) will assist existing departments, offices, and groups create or modify their sites to "feel" similar to central university web pages.
A minimal but prominent common navigation bar
A red/grey common navigation bar at the top of the page is the recommended primary common element among all Ohio State service sites and department/college web pages. It's a minimal primary element that reasonably attempts to tie together thousands of web pages under decentralized control. To maintain consistent usage across the university, please do not modify the navigation bar or any of the text within it.

Service sites (top-level administration pages):
Service sites (top-level administration pages) use the red Ohio State logo top left, below the common navigation bar, with the heading set in News Gothic. This font may be obtained through UniPrint for a nominal charge. Please call them at (614) 292-2000.
College/Departmental level:
The recommended usage of the Ohio State logo and college or department name is top left, under the common navigation bar. If it is not used there, then only use the logo/wordmark at the bottom left as a "sign off." Contact University Marketing Communications at (614) 292-4272 for assistance in developing your logo.
