Scholarship sets Alissa on an Adventure after Graduation

Alissa with her mother

"I still can't believe how everything has worked itself out," said Alissa of her short time after graduation from Ohio State, "but I have learned an important lesson: you never know what life has in store—especially if you work hard, choose to be positive, and refuse to let fear hold you back."

"One of my greatest fears" Alissa said, "was to graduate with a paralyzing sum of student debt." But the support she received from Mr. and Mrs. Imhoff has "enabled me to take risks that normally wouldn't be feasible."

In the three months since graduating, Alissa has traveled to Paris and moved to New York City. She moved to NYC on the premise of a secure job, but found it wasn’t the right fit for her. She then landed a position as an Associate Art Director at Express, the clothing company, which has proven to be her dream job. Her first day was spent on the shoot of the company’s holiday campaign in San Francisco.

A bachelor’s degree has always been a goal of Alissa’s, and she knows that her degree from Ohio State has been the first step to the life she has begun to create for herself. "I am incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported me in my pursuit of education, and I can't wait to see where the future leads!"
