Scholarship Recipient, Jordan Cognion
"My name is Jordan Cognion and I am from a small, rural village in Ohio called West Lafayette. I attended Ridgewood High School where I graduated as valedictorian in a class of 98 students. Ever since I was a little girl, my parents fostered my love for Ohio State football. In my heart I have always been a Buckeye, so it was a dream come true to receive my acceptance letter. This fall will mark the start of my third year at The Ohio State University where I am studying psychology with a pre-physical therapy track. I plan to graduate with my degree in psychology in spring of 2018 after which I will attend graduate school for physical therapy. I hope to one-day work as a physical therapist for a VA hospital where I can utilize my psychology degree to help rehabilitate patients.
There are no words to fully express how grateful I am to have received the Edward C. and Hazel L. Stephenson Scholarship. This generous donation is so much more than a scholarship. Scholarship support has given me the chance to make my dreams a reality while minimizing the weight of debt. The Edward C. and Hazel L. Stephenson Scholarship has helped minimize the common worry of debt and loan payments that most students face and for these reasons I am eternally grateful. I hope to eventually be in a position to give back and help future students in the way you have helped me because I believe an education is the most important asset in life. I am so grateful for donors' generosity and the impact they have made on my life."
