The Geib Family Scholarship Recipient Sarah Bartlome

"I am very honored to be a recipient of the Geib Family Scholarship. Both my parents, Doug Bartlome and Annette Janik, remember the Geibs from their high school days.

Ohio State has always been my dream school, so I worked hard as a student at Vermillion High School to make sure I would get accepted to Ohio State. I am a finance major with an undecided minor, and I am super excited to be a part of the prestigious Max M. Fisher College of Business here at Ohio State. I had a very productive summer before becoming a full-time college student. I volunteered on a Habitat for Humanity trip to build houses and shelters in Florida in June. I also traveled to Boston and New Hampshire at the end of July with one of my dearest friends. Most of my time, however, was spent working two jobs. I am a lifeguard at the Vermilion City Pool and another facility in Amherst. My first semester in Columbus has been pretty great so far! Some of my classes are tough, but I've always been glad to accept the challenge. Thank you again for the incredible honor as a Geib family scholarship recipient. I am truly grateful."
