Ohio State recognized as "Great College to Work For"
University receives top 10 rankings in higher education survey
COLUMBUS – The Ohio State University has been recognized for the second year in a row as one of the Chronicle of Higher Education's "Great Colleges to Work For."
The university ranked among the top 10 large four-year universities (over 10,000 enrollment) in three categories: "Overall Satisfaction with Benefits," "Health Insurance" and "Disability Insurance."
"These rankings give a clear indication that our faculty and staff recognize our efforts to make the benefits we offer among the best of our peer institutions," said Larry Lewellen, vice president for human resources.
The results are based on responses from the more than 40,000 administrators, faculty members and staff at the 247 institutions nationwide that completed the Chronicle survey. The number of institutions participating in the 2009 survey nearly tripled from 2008, the program's inaugural year.
Founded in 1870, The Ohio State University is a world-class public research university and the leading comprehensive teaching and research institution in the state of Ohio. With more than 53,000 students enrolled at its main Columbus campus, 17 colleges and more than 160 undergraduate majors, the university offers its students tremendous breadth and depth of opportunity in the liberal arts, the sciences and the professions. The university has nearly 40,000 employees.
