Central Ohio: The Next Silicon Valley?
Maybe not yet, but The Ohio State University is forming technology partnerships with some of America's leading corporations to improve Ohio's chances for success in the new 21st century economy. Join Gov. Bob Taft and Ohio State President William "Brit" Kirwan as they present the Technology Alliance Partnership Awards. The awards recognize collaboration between Ohio State researchers and businesses that stimulate innovation and spark new developments. The goal? To establish Ohio as a center for technology-based enterprise.
What:Presentation of the "2000 Technology Partnership Awards," featuring remarks from Ohio State President William "Brit" Kirwan and Ohio Gov. Bob Taft. Video vignettes will feature the award winning technology in action.
When: 6-9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21. Awards presentation will be presented at approximately 8 p.m.
A roundtable discussion from 4-6 p.m. Monday will examine the powerful forces driving business and universities to form technology partnerships. Speakers include industry and Ohio State representatives.
Where: The Fawcett Center for Tomorrow, 2400 Olentangy River Road, Columbus.
Why: To recognize outstanding university-business partnerships that are creating a robust technology enterprise environment in Central Ohio.
