Media invited to 'Move-in Day' At University Neighborhood Learning Center Weinland Park center furnished by Ohio State students, supported by $7, 500 Target gift

COLUMBUS - Friday is "Move-in Day" at the new University Neighborhood Learning Center, a teaching, research, and service center in the Weinland Park community. Interior design students from the College of Human Ecology helped decorate the center with help from $7,500 in merchandise from the Target store at Lennox Town Center.

Ohio State alumnus J.R. Haller of Haller Ltd. is renting the building that houses the center to the college at a reduced rate. The center will open to the public this spring.

WHAT: A tour of the new University Neighborhood Learning Center in the Weinland Park community. (Target officials also will present the College of Human Ecology with a $5,000 check to support career services in the college.)

WHEN: Noon, Friday, March 10

WHERE: The University Neighborhood Learning Center, 1621 N. 4th St., the southwest corner of N. 4th Street and 12th Avenue. Parking is available at Zettler Hardware, 267 E. 12th Ave.

WHY: To preview the University Neighborhood Learning Center for media, and to showcase the service learning and career services programs from students in the College of Human Ecology.
