4-H CONFERENCE FOCUSES ON COMMUNITY SERVICE - June 14-16. More than 420 teens from 74 Ohio counties will attend the annual Ohio 4-H Youth Expo June 14-16. This year's conference expands on the theme of "service learning," and incorporates those skills into community service activities. Teens will clean out a park behind Graceland, take animals to a nursing home and participate in hands-on learning projects on Thursday. On Friday, they'll participate in community service projects that include clearning nonnative plants from the Kenney Park behind the Graceland Shopping Center, and put on clown makeup to cheer up patients at the OSU Medical Center. They'll also learn about the pet-human bond by taking pets to residents of the Grand Court, an assisted living center in Columbus.
