Ohio State researchers offer Darby Creek analysis

Results of an economic and fiscal analysis of the proposed Darby Creek Wildlife Refuge will be released Wednesday (7/26) at noon to the government and citizen groups that requested the study. Purchase of land for the proposed refuge within the Darby Creek watershed has been hotly debated in Central Ohio.

Ohio State researchers David Kraybill and Elena Irwin, regional and community economics specialists in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics led the study for Ohio State University Extension.

Copies of the executive report will be available at the meeting. No results or recommendations will be released prior to the meeting.

WHAT: Release of impact study on the proposed Darby Creek Wildlife Refuge

WHEN: Noon, Wednesday, July 26. Researchers will be available for media questions for 30 minutes following the meeting at 1:30 p.m. in Room 111.

WHERE: Agricultural Administration Auditorium, 2120 Fyffe Road

WHY: The report will address issues raised by the proposed refuge.
