There's never a dull moment during Welcome Week 2000

New and returning students enjoy all Ohio State has to offer

COLUMBUS -- Imagine a place where 48,000 of your closest friends join forces for a week-long Buckeye bonanza. There's free food by the tons, chances to make friends and get involved on and off campus, and friendly faces to greet you outside of the Main Library with a bagel and directions to your next class.

But wait...there's more. Students can join thousands of other students, faculty and staff for a Tae Bo class led by Billy Blanks and help The Ohio State University set a new world record for the number of people doing the popular exercise, all during Welcome Week 2000, Sept. 17 through 23.

There really is something for everyone at Ohio State, said Matt Couch, assistant director of student activities, and Welcome Week will definitely give new and returning students a taste of what's out there.

"There is something for the die-hard Buckeye, the socially conscious and the hungry," Couch said. "We want everyone to feel like they belong here at Ohio State -- it will be their home, and we want them to get to know it better."
