OHIO STATE AND LOWE'S TEAM UP TO HELP COMMUNITY
Two homes in the Weinland Park community will get a face-lift this Saturday (10/21) thanks to a collaborative effort between The Ohio State University's College of Human Ecology and Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse. Students, faculty, staff and alumni from Ohio State will join Lowe's employees from six Columbus stores to repair the homes of Louise Wright, 1318 N. 4th St., and Thelma Allen, 1481 N. 6th St., from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Neighborhood Revitalization Day is part of the College of Human Ecology's commitment to solving problems identified by communities just east of Ohio State's campus.
Both women love their homes and are committed to their neighborhood. Yet as retirees, both women lacked the funds to complete necessary major home repairs. They faced housing code citations by the city until the college and Lowe's stepped in.
