We are disappointed Tim Knowles has chosen to file this lawsuit today. As we stated last July when Dr. Knowles was terminated, a thorough review of his performance led us to believe a change in leadership was necessary in the Office of Minority Affairs.

We remain deeply committed to the principles that guide the Office of Minority Affairs and to ensure that the office has the kind of strong and effective leadership it needs to do its very important work. That work has continued under the capable leadership of Dr. Mac Stewart. The university will continue moving forward on several key initiatives, including implementing our Diversity Action Plan.

We have no plans to discuss this lawsuit any further as it now becomes a matter of pending litigation.
