Race relations and diversity topics at Ohio State this week

The Reverend Bernice King, the youngest child of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., will address faculty, staff, students and the general public at Ohio State University's 29th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday (1/10), in the Ohio Union Ballrooms, 1739 North High Street. The theme of this year's event is "Community or Chaos: Where do We go From Here." The OSU African-American Voices will provide musical selections.

Paul Kivel will discuss racism and steps to building community on campus as part of the Ohio State President and Provost's Diversity Lecture Series. Kivel, a nationally known author, educator and consultant, will speak to faculty, staff and students on the topic Uprooting Racism: How White People can Work for Racial Justice at 9 a.m., Thursday (1/11), at the Fawcett Center, 2400 Olentangy River Road.
