Ohio State community to recognize head football coach
Ohio State President William E. Kirwan, Athletics Director Andy Geiger and faculty, staff and students will rally behind Jim Tressel, the university’s new head football coach, from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, in the Ohio Union Ballrooms, 1739 N. High St.
The event will include a speech given by Tressel, followed by an open-microphone question-and-answer period facilitated by Ryan Robinson, speaker of the Senate for the Undergraduate Student Government (USG). Everyone in attendance will receive a T-shirt.
The Ohio State Marching Band and the cheerleaders will be on hand to add some Buckeye spirit to the event. The cheerleaders also will be recognized for their 2nd place finish in January at the National Collegiate Cheerleading Competition in Orlando.
Sponsored by USG, the Ohio Union Activities Board, Block ‘O’ and Student Activities & Campus Programs, tickets are free with a university I.D. card and are available at either Room 201 or Room 211 of the Ohio Union. Tickets are limited to two per I.D.
