Ohio State and Executive Jet announce educational partnership
Ohio State University and Executive Jet Inc. will announce a new educational partnership that will enhance the university’s undergraduate aviation training program. Executive Jet Executive Vice President Richard G. Smith III and David Ashley, dean of The Ohio State College of Engineering, will discuss the alliance at 4:30 p.m. Thursday (3/15) at the Executive Jet office complex, 4111 Bridgeway Ave.
Founded in Columbus in 1964, Executive Jet employs 1,200 at its operational headquarters at Port Columbus. The company has revolutionized the business aviation industry with the NetJets fractional aircraft ownership program.
Under terms of the broad partnership, Executive Jet and the College of Engineering will explore the creation of an accelerated flight training program for Ohio State aviation students, Executive Jet scholarship recipients, and experienced industry pilots seeking advanced pilot training. Ohio State and Executive Jet will also explore establishing training facilities at the OSU airport to house this accelerated training program.
