Ohio State conference focuses on outreach and engagement

Economy, technology relationship is a topic of discussion

The future of Ohio’s economy could depend on the relationship between economic development and science and technology.

That relationship is among the topics that will be discussed at Ohio State’s outreach and engagement conference, “Helping to Build Ohio’s Future: The Ohio State University’s Outreach/Engagement Commitment,” 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday (4/20), at the Adams Mark Hotel, 50 N. Third St.  Assistant Vice President for Technology Partnerships David Allen will facilitate this interactive discussion.

Ohio State President William E. Kirwan, Executive Vice President and Provost Ed Ray, Vice President of Agriculture Administration Bob Moser, Board of Trustees member and chair the of Outreach and Engagement Committee James Patterson and Gail Imig, from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, are among the conference’s featured speakers.

The conference sessions will focus on Ohio State’s and the community’s commitments to outreach and engagement; the implementation of the outreach and engagement aspects of Ohio State’s academic plan; and steps to move departments and communities toward stronger engagement.
