Stained glass window installation underway in Ohio Stadium

Three panels will grace stadium rotunda entrance

Three stained glass windows are being installed this week in the openings in the rotunda of Ohio Stadium.  Work is expected to be nearly completed on the center panel by late Friday (8/31) afternoon, with at least one additional panel nearly completed.  The entire piece should be completed by Saturday afternoon.  Media are invited to visit the rotunda area while the installation is underway.

The installation, designed by The Agency Graphic Design of Powell, Ohio, includes three  panels—each approximately 18.5 feet high and 12 feet wide—placed in the windows and lit from behind. The center panel, featuring a large scarlet “Block O” on a gray background, is flanked by panels depicting scenes of the Buckeye football team in action.

The windows are being built on site.  Smaller glass pieces were placed in special caulking earlier this week.

The art glass installation is part of the overall Ohio Stadium renovation project.  The windows are part of a $2 million gift to the project from Motorists Insurance Group.
