A dismal state economic picture, including looming budget cuts, will not deter The Ohio State University from its pursuit of excellence through the Academic Plan. That’s the message Ohio State President William E. Kirwan will deliver in his third “State of the University” address to the campus, which will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in 1000 McPherson Chemical Laboratory, 140 West 18th Avenue.
Kirwan will outline the tough choices the university will make as a result of likely state budget cuts, and set the university’s priorities in the areas of diversity, improving the student experience, increasing biomedical research and developing a competitive compensation package for faculty and staff.
Media are invited to hear the president deliver his remarks, and then participate in a brief availability following the speech.
