Students from The Ohio State University and Penn State University will team up for the third time to take part in the annual “Make a Difference Day.”
About 120 Ohio State students, mostly first-year, will leave the university about noon on Friday (10/26) from the Ohio Union, 1739 N. High St., to travel to State College, Pennsylvania.
On Saturday, the students will volunteer until 11 a.m. at various community organizations, such as nursing homes, daycare facilities and animal shelters. These service projects will be followed by a tailgate picnic with Penn State, and attendance at the football game. Ohio State students will return to campus late Saturday night.
“Make a Difference Day” brings students together from different schools in the Big Ten for a day of collaborative community service. The project is intended to give students hands-on experience in service learning and to help students meet and interact with others. This is the fourth time Ohio State has taken part in this event.
