08-19-93 Nancy Ingling Receives Schoen Award

NANCY INGLING RECEIVES SCHOEN AWARD FOR LEADERSHIP

     COLUMBUS -- Nancy Wallis Ingling, manager of development
proposals in the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations at
The Ohio State University, has received the 1993 Kathryn Schoen
Award.  The award, given annually to a woman faculty member or
administrator, recognizes leadership potential.  It includes a
$1,800 grant to be used to fund professional development.

     Ingling used her grant to attend the Summer Institute in
Educational Fund Raising, sponsored by the Council for
Advancement and Support of Education and held at Dartmouth
College.

     Ingling, a resident of DELAWARE, has held her present
position since 1991 and has been employed at Ohio State since
1988.

     The Schoen Award is named for Kathryn Schoen, who served
Ohio State for more than 20 years as a faculty member and
administrator.  She was the first woman to be named a vice
president of the university.  The purpose of the award is to
foster opportunities for professional growth and leadership for
women in higher education.
