12-14-93 Gwinn Service To Be On Campus

        MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR JAYSON GWINN TO BE ON CAMPUS

     A public memorial service for Jayson Gwinn, Ohio State
University football player who was killed in a car accident last
weekend, will be held Thursday (Dec. 16) at Mershon Auditorium at
15th Avenue and North High Street on the campus.

     The Mershon location is a change from an earlier
announcement, which said the services would be held at Veterans
Memorial Auditorium in downtown Columbus.

     A viewing will take place from 10 a.m. to noon, and the
memorial service will begin at noon.

     According to Malcolm Baroway, executive director of
university communication, the service has been moved with the
approval of the family.

     "In everyone's rush to be helpful," Baroway said,  "The
mayor and the city were gracious enough to offer the Veterans
Memorial site at the same time we were about to offer the campus
facility."

     Free parking will be available in the Ohio Union garage,
south of Mershon on High Street.
