09-30-94 Advisory on Weekend Events NEWS ADVISORY: WEEKEND EVENTS AT THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY University Senate meeting, 9 a.m. Saturday (10/1) in Room 103 Kottman Hall, 2021 Coffey Road. President E. Gordon Gee will give his fifth annual address to the Senate. He will call for renewed efforts to enhance the quality of the education and experience for Ohio State students. Characterizing the university as resilient in the face of challenge and change, he will discuss the need for improved quality, fiscal growth, increased accountability, and stronger community spirit. "High on Pride" University Community Clean Up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday (10/1) in the neighborhood just east of campus. Students, faculty and staff volunteers will be picking up litter, removing bulk trash, pulling weeds, etc. Mayor Greg Lashutka will speak to the volunteers at 9 a.m. at the registration area at 15th Avenue and High Street and then join in the work. President Gee will arrive around 12:30 to participate in the Clean Up. Post-Clean Up celebration with food, drinks, music and prizes ends at 4 p.m. Honor society members will stuff safety information cards in the Master Schedule of Classes for mailing to students from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday (10/2) in Royer Student Activities Center, 85 Curl Drive. The project is sponsored by the Greek Community Awareness Council. The flexible plastic cards contain phone numbers for emergency and safety services and other services. Contact: Harris Levinson, 297-1909. Paramount Productions will be at the Radio Observatory on Route 23 near Delaware most of the day Saturday (10/1) filming for their TV show "Sightings." They will be emphasizing the volunteer nature of the research on extraterrestrial life being conducted there.
