08-21-95 Media Arrangements for Commencement

THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT ARRANGEMENTS
THURSDAY, AUGUST 31, 1995

SCHEDULE
Commencement ceremonies for about 2,000 summer quarter graduates 
will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. in St. John Arena. Peter Scott, 
entrepreneur and former chairman of Black & Decker Corp., will give 
the commencement address.

PARKING
Reserved parking for the news media has been provided in the lot 
directly north of the arena.  Please use your enclosed parking 
permit to gain access to the media parking area.

NEWS MEDIA FACILITIES
The first MEZZANINE row in Section 8A on the north side of the arena 
has been reserved for the news media.  Seating will be in seats 1 to 
16.  An audio feed and mult box will be provided at this location.  
Press kits will be available here and at the photographer's platform.

CREDENTIALS
The enclosed badge will serve as your credential for entry into the 
specially assigned news areas.  Please wear it at all times. 

FLOOR ACCESS
Photographers and reporters will be allowed on the floor during 
commencement if they are wearing the enclosed badge.  Those using 
portable equipment may go anywhere except the speakers' platform.  
Those using tripods must stay on the photographers' platform (equipped 
with audio feed).  During the processional and recessional, all 
photographers are requested to stay on the platform.  Anyone who does 
not need to be on the floor is asked to stay in the media seats.  
Please cooperate with commencement officials in any requests they make 
during the ceremony.

If you have questions or need more information, please call Tracy 
Turner, (614)688-3682, before the morning of commencement or after the 
ceremony.  She will be in the media section to assist you during the 
ceremony.
