Ross Chair in Management will support a faculty position in management education focusing on operations, product development and manufacturing. The $1,255,000 fund was established by Elizabeth Ross of COLUMBUS (43215) in memory of her husband, Richard M. Ross, who received his Bachelor of Science degree in fine arts from Ohio State in 1938. Ross became general manager of Ross Laboratories in 1946, and served as president when the company merged with Abbott Laboratories in 1964. He remained as president until the late 1970s and continued to serve on Abbott's board of directors until 1989.
