10-10-95 Student Health Conference NEWS ADVISORY: OHIO STATE TO HOST OHIO COLLEGE HEALTH ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE The Ohio State University Student Health Center will host the 70th annual meeting of the Ohio College Health Association on Oct. 12-14 at the Great Southern Hotel, 310 S. High St. Some 150 Ohio college health professionals will attend the conference. Thursday (10/12) Richard Keeling, director of University Health Services at the University of Wisconsin- Madison, will begin the conference with a discussion at 1:30 p.m. on "College Health and the Context of Higher Education: Challenges in a Time of Change." A panel discussion of "Healthcare Reform in Ohio" follows at 3 p.m. Panelists include: state Rep. Robert Netzley, chair of the House Insurance Committee; Claire Wolfe, immediate past president of the Ohio State Medical Association; Eileen Kilbane Gordon, co-president of the Ohio Coalition of Nurses with Special Certification; and state Sen. Merle Kearns. The panel will discuss health care issues including Senate Bill 154, which would establish statewide legal recognition of advanced practice nurses in Ohio. The conference will continue Friday (10/13) with discussions on various health issues, including "HIV on Campus: Update 1995" at 9 a.m.; a lecture by Robert Hatcher, author of Contraceptive Technology at 10:30 a.m.; and "Exploring Student Health Issues" at 1:30 p.m. On Saturday (10/14) the conference will conclude with discussions on: "Caring for Diabetic Students" at 8 a.m., "Depression as Seen by the Primary Care Provider" at 9 a.m., and at 10:15 a.m. "HPV and Other STDs: An Update."
