10-16-95 Richard Lewis Grand Marshal for OSU Homecoming Parade COMEDIAN AND OHIO STATE ALUMNUS RICHARD LEWIS IS GRAND MARSHAL COLUMBUS -- Actor, comedian and Ohio State University alumnus Richard Lewis will be the grand marshal for the homecoming parade and pep rally Friday (10/20) as Ohio State celebrates Homecoming Week and the 125th anniversary of the university's founding in 1870. "A Past with a Presence" is the theme for both the anniversary and the homecoming celebrations this year. The homecoming parade, featuring floats, the marching band and the homecoming court, will begin at 6 p.m. near French Field House. Lewis will lead the parade around the south side of the Ohio Union to the Oval. After the parade, Lewis, Archie Griffin, the football team, cheerleaders, the homecoming court and other supporters will hold a pep rally on the Oval. Lewis will speak at the homecoming brunch Saturday (10/21) at 11:20 a.m. in the Ohio Union and during half time of the homecoming game. Lewis, who is in the midst of his "Magical Misery Tour," recently completed his first dramatic role in the independent film "Drunks." He also appeared in "Weekend In The Country," "Wagons East," "Robin Hood: Men in Tights," and "Once Upon A Crime." A self-proclaimed "comedian from hell," Lewis has appeared on "Late Night With David Letterman" some 50 times and participated in HBO's Comic Relief since its beginnings in 1987. In addition to his numerous films, Lewis starred in the critically acclaimed television series "Anything But Love" with Jamie Lee Curtis. The show ran on ABC for four years, beginning in 1989. Reruns of the show are still being shown on the Lifetime cable network.
