96-05-03 Trustees: Trustees Honor Jody Seward JODY SEWARD RECEIVES STUDENT RECOGNITION AWARD COLUMBUS -- Jody Seward of BOLIVAR, a veterinary medicine student, has received The Ohio State University Board of Trustees Student Recognition Award. The award was presented during the May 3 meeting of the board. Seward was honored for his work as vice president of the Interprofessional Council, a governing organization of professional students at Ohio State, and coordinating a mentoring program between professional students at Ohio State and Everett Middle School students in Columbus. "Because students are at an impressionable age, the peer mentoring program provides them with encouragement to stay in school and think about possible career choices," Seward said. "I have gained a great deal of insight from this experience." Seward is the president of the College of Veterinary Medicine Student Council and a member of the student chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Seward graduated from Fairless High School in 1991 and is the son of Larry and Sheryl Seward, 8971 Dolphin St. He plans to pursue a career in veterinary medicine and is scheduled to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ohio State in June 1997. # Contact: Tracy Turner, University Communications, (614) 688-3682.
