Gordon Gee when he visited the high school on March 18. The tree was raised from a seedling by Ryan Blauser, president of the New Lexington FFA and a sophomore at New Lexington High School, at his parents' tree farm in Junction City. The tree was presented to Gee in recognition of his commitment to youth and agriculture in Ohio and has been planted on the east end of the Oval, the traditional center of Ohio State's Columbus campus. Before joining Gee at the tree site, the New Lexington FFAers and their advisor, David Blauser, toured the Ohio State campus. Their tour guide was Kelly Newlon, sister of Katie Newlon, a member of the New Lexington chapter and Ohio FFA District 20 president. # [Submitted by: Von Reid-Vargas (ereid@magnus.acs.ohio-state.edu) Fri, 31 May 1996 16:20:02 -0400] All documents are the responsibility of their originator.
