97-02-06 News Conference on Budget Today

                         NEWS ADVISORY:
       NEWS CONFERENCE ON STATE BUDGET TODAY AT 3:30 P.M.

     The Ohio State University will hold a news conference this
afternoon (Thursday, Feb. 6) at 3:30 in the Alumni Lounge of the 
Fawcett Center, 2400 Olentangy River Road, to present viewpoints 
of its trustees and administrators on the proposed state funding 
of higher education in the coming biennium. 

     Les Wexner, chair of the university's Board of Trustees,
and President E. Gordon Gee will be the primary speakers.  A 
number of other Ohio State trustees and administrators will be
on hand and available for interviews.  Valeriana Moeller, 
president of Columbus State Community College, and several 
Columbus State trustees will also attend and take questions.

     The news conference will begin promptly at 3:30 and is
expected to conclude by 4 p.m.  Reporters are advised to arrive
a few minutes before 3:30.  A mult box will be provided.
