97-02-11 News Conference This Afternoon at 3 p.m.

                         NEWS ADVISORY:
          NEWS CONFERENCE THIS AFTERNOON AT 3 P.M. 

     The Ohio State University will hold a news conference this 
afternoon (Tuesday, Feb. 11) at 3 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge of 
the Fawcett Center, 2400 Olentangy River Road.  At that time
reporters will be updated on the status of the investigation into 
the shooting of OSU Police Officer Michael Blankenship.

     President E. Gordon Gee, Police Chief Ron Michalec, and 
other university officials will speak and take questions.

     The University is continuing its normal operations today, 
with the exception of the Wexner Center for the Arts which is
closed.
