97-03-11 Trustees Honor Reiko Yoshida YOSHIDA WINS STUDENT RECOGNITION AWARD COLUMBUS -- Reiko Yoshida of COLUMBUS (43201), a senior majoring in electrical engineering, has won The Ohio State University Board of Trustees Student Recognition Award. The award was presented during the March 7 meeting of the board. Yoshida was honored for her work with the Get Well Ohio Team, a program that encourages alcohol awareness on campus by changing student attitudes toward substance abuse. She has served through the Office of Student Wellness as a student representative on the Office of Student Affairs Leadership Team, which addresses itself to enhancing the student experience at Ohio State. A member of the Phi Sigma Rho Engineering Sorority, Yoshida sits on the executive board. She is a member of the Tau Beta Pi engineering honorary, and has worked on joint projects with Habitat for Humanity. She is a member of Ohio State's hybrid vehicle team, focusing on design considerations for a ventilation system to be implemented in future energy-efficient vehicles. Born in Sizukah, Japan, Yoshida moved to Ohio at the age of 6. She graduated from Dublin High School in 1993.
