97-03-31 Street Sweeping Begins April 3 > > >STREET SWEEPING BEGINS APRIL 3 IN UNIVERSITY DISTRICT > > COLUMBUS - The City of Columbus Public Service Department will begin >regular monthly street sweeping in the University District on April 3 as >part of joint efforts by the city, The Ohio State University and >neighborhood leaders to improve the appearance of the area. > > Neil Avenue from Goodale Street to Ninth Avenue will be swept twice >monthly from April through October in conjunction with sweeping in Victorian >Village. This sweeping will be done, beginning April 3, on the first and >third Thursdays and Fridays of each month. Parking will be restricted from >8 to 10 a.m. on the east side on Thursday and on the west side on Friday. > > For the rest of the University District, the city will sweep once monthly >all streets in the predominantly student neighborhood east of High Street >and all arterial streets throughout the University District on the second >Thursday and second Friday from April through October. This sweeping begins >April 10 and 11. Parking will be restricted from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the >north and east sides of the streets on Thursday and on the south and west >sides on Friday. > > The city has installed nearly 900 permanent signs on the affected streets >warning of the sweeping.
