97-04-10 Brenda Miller Honored by Trustees MILLER WINS STUDENT RECOGNITION AWARD COLUMBUS -- Brenda Miller of MILFORD, a third-year student in the College of Veterinary Medicine, has won The Ohio State University Board of Trustees Student Recognition Award. The award was presented during the April 4 meeting of the board. Miller was honored for her work in organizing the first student chapter of the American Association of Human Animal Bond Veterinarians, an organization that promotes public awareness of animals in the role of pets, service aids, and in medical therapy. Miller established the college’s Pet Loss Support Hot Line, a service that offers pet owners counseling for grief and guilt experienced through the loss of a pet. She served as treasurer of Ohio’s student chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, and is a member of the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Association.
