97-06-13 Diploma Pickup Instructions

DIPLOMAS MAY BE PICKED UP NEXT WEEK AT LINCOLN TOWER

	Spring graduates of The Ohio State University may pick up their diplomas
at French Field House until 4 p.m. today (6/13) and next week in Room 320
Lincoln Tower, 1800 Cannon Drive, the University Registrar’s office
announced this afternoon.  The hours for pick up Monday through Friday are
9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

	Commencement exercises were cancelled this morning about 10 minutes into
the program after an hour-long steady rain escalated into a drenching
downpour.  It was the only the second time in university history that a
commencement program was cancelled.  The previous cancellation took place
in June 1941, also because of heavy rain.  Because of the large number of
graduates (5,519) and guests, there is no alternative to Ohio Stadium in
inclement weather.

	Students who do not pick up their diplomas by the end of next week will be
contacted by the Registrar’s office to verify addresses, and the diplomas
will be mailed.
