                        NEWS ADVISORY:
     COLUMBUS COMMUNITY INVITED TO JOHN GLENN ANNOUNCEMENT

	The Friday (9/18) announcement of the creation of the 
proposed John Glenn Institute for Public Service and Public 
Policy at The Ohio State University is free and open to the 
public.  The announcement takes place at 2 p.m. in the auditorium 
of Independence Hall, 1923 Neil Ave., at the corner of 17th 
Avenue.  Doors to the event will open at 1:15 p.m.

	Details concerning the goals and scope of the institute will 
be announced, and Glenn will discuss the importance of motivating 
and informing young people about public service.  The event 
concludes at 2:30 p.m.
