                        NEWS ADVISORY:
PETER UEBERROTH, CARLA HILLS, LESLIE WEXNER TO PARTICIPATE
IN DEDICATION CEREMONIES FOR FISHER COLLEGE OF BUSINESS CAMPUS

COLUMBUS -- Keynote speeches by Carla Hills, former U.S. trade
representative, and Peter Ueberroth, former Major League Baseball
commissioner and organizer of the Los Angeles Olympics, will be part of
ceremonies dedicating the first two buildings of the new Fisher College of
Business campus at The Ohio State University.

Two days of events Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 20 and 21, will honor
Max M. Fisher, the Ohio State alumnus and Detroit, Mich., industrialist and
philanthropist for whom the college is named, and the late John B. “Bernie”
Gerlach, the former Ohio State Foundation Board chair and Columbus
businessman for whom Gerlach Hall is named. The theme will be “Building
Partnerships for the 21st Century.” Fisher and Gerlach halls, the first
buildings to be completed in the six-building, $120 million complex along
Woodruff Avenue, are occupied this fall by graduate programs, faculty and
administration. When completed, the college will be one of the few fully
integrated management education campuses in the nation. Fisher contributed
$20 million to the College of Business building campaign, which is part of
Ohio State’s “Affirm Thy Friendship” campaign.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS FEATURED AT SYMPOSIUM
A free, public symposium at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Mershon Auditorium,
1871 N. High St., will feature speeches by Hills and Ueberroth. Hills, an
expert in international trade and investment, will speak on “Global Trade
and Investment: The Importance of Open Global Markets.” Ueberroth, now
investor and managing director of The Contrarian Group, Inc., a business
management company, will speak on “The Entrepreneurial Spirit: From Global
Business to the Classroom.”
The symposium will feature remarks by Joseph A. Alutto, dean of the
Fisher College, and Leslie H. Wexner, founder, president and chairman of
the board of The Limited, Inc.

WEXNER AND FISHER TO HELP MBA STUDENTS BUY STOCK
At 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Fisher, Wexner, Alutto and Ohio State
President William E. Kirwan will participate in an interactive program at
Gerlach Hall. MBA students in the college’s stock market classroom will
connect with the Nasdaq stock exchange in New York and recent Fisher alumni
working for international companies. Using money donated by the audience,
students will recommend the purchase of a stock. Wexner and Fisher will
offer advice about which stock to buy. Alfred Berkeley, president of
Nasdaq, and Norman Pessin, principal at Neuberger & Berman, will facilitate
the trade.

DEDICATION CEREMONY CLOSES FESTIVITIES
The dedication ceremony begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday at an outdoor
stage area assembled between Fisher and Gerlach halls. The festivities
include a performance by the marching band, a variety of presentations, and
remarks by President Kirwan, Board of Trustees Chair Ted Celeste, Wexner
and Alutto. Gov. George V. Voinovich also is scheduled to appear. Special
acknowledgment will be made of Max Fisher and Dareth Gerlach, wife of the
late John B. Gerlach. A lunch and tours of the buildings will follow.

                        MEDIA ARRANGEMENTS

SYMPOSIUM (4 p.m. Tuesday) A media seating section will be designated in
Mershon Auditorium. A mult box will be provided at the audio control panel
inside the auditorium. Tripods may be set up adjacent to the audio
console; photographers and videographers with hand-held cameras may shoot
from the aisles.  Lighting will be available in the auditorium;
photographers are requested not to use a flash.

INTERACTIVE STOCK PURCHASE (9 a.m. Wednesday) The interactive program is
open only to MBA students, donors and friends of the college. It will take
place in classrooms on the second and third floors of Gerlach Hall.
Because space is limited, media wishing to cover the interactive stock
purchase should call Emily Caldwell at University Communications, (614)
292-8309, by noon Monday (10/19) so your needs can be accommodated. You
will need to be set up in a designated media section in Gerlach Hall by 9
a.m. The program will last approximately 45 minutes (beginning at 9:30),
and media will be required to remain in the designated section until the
program concludes. See parking information below.

DEDICATION CEREMONY (11 a.m. Wednesday) Neil Avenue will be closed between
Lane Avenue and Tuttle Park Place Monday through Wednesday. On Wednesday,
remote truck parking will be available on Neil Avenue; enter from the Lane
Avenue entrance to Neil and park in front of Gerlach Hall. During
dedication events Wednesday, media parking will be available beside the
ROTC Building in the lot at Tuttle Park Place and Lane Avenue. Please use
your OSU media parking permit for access. A media tent will be set up
north of Gerlach Hall. A camera platform and press risers will be provided
just north of the audience bleachers. Lighting and a mult box will be
provided during the dedication ceremony. A media availability with some
ceremony participants is tentatively planned immediately following the
dedication, at approximately 11:30 a.m.
