                 MICHIGAN WEEK STORY TIPS

	Looking for another Michigan Week story?  Here are some

THURSDAY
	Door-to-door walk in campus area.  About 50 students, staff 
and faculty, including President Kirwan, will walk east of High 
Street, talking to residents and distributing information about 
safe, responsible celebration.  They will be accompanied by 12 
Columbus Police officers.  The group will gather at the Student 
Activities office, 218 Ohio Union, at 5:15 p.m., and walk door-
to-door from 6 to 8 p.m. in the area bounded by Chittenden and 
18th avenues and High and Summit streets.
	Hypnotize the Wolverines, program by mentalist Robert 
Channing at 7:30 p.m. in the Ohio Union Conference Theatre.

FRIDAY
	Wing the Wolverines, a substance-free party for students at 
Larkins Hall from 5 to 8 p.m. featuring 15,000 chicken wings to 
munch on and music by the campus radio station, The Underground.
	Beat Michigan Tailgate Party, 11:30 a.m. to l p.m., at the 
transportation garage, 2578 Kenny Road.  Transportation and 
Parking Services will donate the food, and proceeds go to Bucks 
for Charity.  Prize drawings. Contact: Beth Bogard, 292-9800.

SATURDAY
	Pancake Breakfast, 9-11 a.m. at Larkins Hall.  Open to all.
	Spirit Tunnel, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., students and other fans 
will line 15th Avenue to cheer the football team buses as they 
pass by on their way to Ohio Stadium.

ALL WEEK
	Operation Fill-up, a drive to collect canned goods for 
neighborhood food pantries.  Bags will be collected on Friday.  
	Nike Re-Use a Shoe Program, a competition between Ohio State 
and Michigan to collect used athletic shoes for recycling into 
playgrounds and athletic surfaces in inner-city neighborhoods.
	Red Cross Blood Drive, the annual "battle" between Ohio 
State and Michigan to see which can donate the most blood.
