NEWS ADVISORY:
TRUSTEES TO PUT THEMSELVES IN STUDENTS’ PLACE FOR A DAY

Four members of The Ohio State University Board of Trustees will sample what life is like for OSU undergraduates tomorrow (Thursday, Feb. 4). Trustees Ted Celeste and Dan Slane, along with graduate student trustee Allyson Lowe, will spend the morning attending classes, meeting with academic counselors and financial aid advisers, visiting student residences, and otherwise getting a firsthand feel for Ohio State from the undergraduate perspective. They will conclude with a group lunch in Kennedy Commons, where they’ll be joined by Trustee David Brennan.

The event is organized by the Undergraduate Student Government, with student Mara Leventhal in charge of scheduling and arrangements. She said the goal is to give the trustees an opportunity to experience everyday campus life.

Media are welcome to cover any aspect of the program. The trustees and about 15 students who are taking part will convene for breakfast at 9 a.m. at the Faculty Club, 181 S. Oval Drive, before separating to begin the classroom and extracurricular experiences. They’ll rejoin at noon for lunch and a focused discussion at Kennedy Commons, 251 W. 12th Ave. For a detailed schedule of the other activities, please call Ruth Gerstner in University Communications, 292-8424, after 8 a.m. Thursday.
